Together with Charlotte Friedenthal, Marga Meusel endeavored in August of 1934 to initiate the establishment of a central “aid agency for Christian non-Aryans” in Berlin, which would be supported by the Inner Mission. Friedenthal was supposed to take over its management.

They received support from Spandau Superintendent Martin Albertz. He presented the plan to Friedrich von Bodelschwingh, the director of the Bethel institutions. Friedenthal also wrote Bodelschwingh who, in November of 1934, nonetheless turned down the “patronage” of the project offered to him. While he shared the view that Christians had to become active here, he considered himself to be overloaded already with his work in Bethel.
