Action in Obscurity

All forms of resistance have one thing in common, however: Action at the margins was always action in obscurity, too. What appears so clear from today’s perspective, in retrospect, was frequently not clear to judge for contemporaries. Open questions are:

What conduct is demanded by the Christian faith?

For whom must I primarily assume responsibility? What Christian standards apply?

Christians were able and had to arrive at various judgments from their various viewpoints. That precludes easy incriminations as well as easy exculpations. The essential question is therefore:

What induced individuals to rebel against the regime?

What were their motives and reasons?

How did they become active and what were the consequences of their activity? And: Why did they remain in the minority?
