Gerhard Dedeke was subjected to constant polemic in the Nazi press during the last years he served in Minden. He was publicly defamed in a letter to the editor in the “Stürmer” for having taken a stand against Nazi anti-Semitism. The letter to the editor refers to a statement of the certainly anti-Jewish pastor, which is no longer identifiable. At any rate, this article led parents to withdraw their children from Dedeke’s confirmation class.
