    Magnifier

The history Alice Krause wrote after her husband’s death deals surprisingly briefly with the dramatic events of her husband’s detention, trial and sentencing to death. She had probably felt that this would not meet with great interest in Zingst. The tense situation in the parsonage as refugees were pushing westward and Russian soldiers were being billeting is recounted expressively and in detail.
