In March of 1946, Johannes Schröder drove to Neumünster and saw his wife and children again after years of separation. Out of consideration for his family and disagreement with Otto Dibelius’s ecclesio-political course, he did not return to Berlin., Friedrich-Wilhelm Krummacher, a friend he had made in Lunyovo and colleague in Berlin, did not show any understanding for this decision. Nonetheless, their friendship survived this disagreement. In June of 1946, Schröder took on a parish in Neumünster.
